Richard Lipp of Stuttgart

We have just finished restoring a beautiful 1910 rosewood Lipp upright, and the result is a wonderfully warm and round-toned piano. A few years ago we restored a pre-WW1 boudoir grand Lipp with equally impressive results. It reminds me that Lipp must qualify (followed by Schiedmayer, also of Stuttgart) as the most underrated piano manufacturer from the golden period. These are some of the finest pianos ever made and yet only a small handful of the public have ever heard the name. Count yourself lucky if you own a real Lipp piano!
