Thornhill Pianos is a family business specialising in reconditioning grand and upright pianos to the highest standards, offering an excellent selection of restored German pianos.

We sell and rent new Wendl & Lung pianos as they offer the best value and quality in the UK market. As the official UK agent for Wendl & Lung we have extensive knowledge of their pianos and have undergone specialist training in Vienna in how to provide the best tone and touch.

In addition we have an impressive collection of reproduction period instruments (fortepianos, harpsichords, spinets, viriginals) available for hire.

We have been selling and renting pianos, fortepianos and harpsichords since 1988, and have worked for many professional venues in the UK, including opera houses (Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, ENO, Garsington) concert halls (South Bank, Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Kings Place) and recording studios (Metropolis, Sarm, Sphere, State of the Ark, Konk, Rokstone, Eastcote, Livingstone, Premises). We also operate in Cambridge where our clients include Clare Hall, University of Cambridge (the Intimate Engagements international music series) and Kettle's Yard.

We employ no sales people but instead have a dedicated staff with excellent technical and musical knowledge.
