Adlam Burnett reproduction Heilmann Viennese FortepianoMade for us in 1978, this lovely copy of a Heilmann fortepiano of 1785 by Derek Adlam is probably the most frequently-heard fortepiano anywhere in the UK, having done innumerable seasons for Glyndebourne, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Garsington, Grange Park Opera, English National Opera, The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and dozens of Haydn 'Creation' and 'The Seasons' performances at venues from small local churches to the Royal Albert Hall. This is a fine example of a reproduction Viennese fortepiano, having a five-octave compass with sustain, felt-damped "soft pedal" and 'Fagotti' stop, all operated by knee-levers. The instrument can be used at modern pitch (A=440) or historical pitches of A=430 or lower. Hire fees start at £150.00 per day plus delivery and collection and tuning and standby. |

David Rubio French reproduction double-manual harpsichordCopied from the famous 1769 Pascal Taskin harpsichord in the Russell collection in Edinburgh, this fine harpsichord, made by David Rubio in 1974, has the ultimate "romantic harpsichord" sound so characteristic of the late French makers. With 2 x 8' stops, a 4' stop and buff (with a peau de buffle stop also available if required), this harpsichord, frequently used in concert venues in London and elsewhere, is available to rent from £125 per day plus transport and tuning. |
Reproduction Conrad Graf FortepianoA stunning copy of an 1826 Graf, made in Frome in 2003 by Christopher Barlow. At 8 ft in length this unique collector's instrument boasts a substantial tone and provides an outstanding insight into authentic performance of the nineteenth century piano repertoire. Available for short-term rental at £250 per day plus transport and tuning as required. Sale price upon application This outstanding reproduction fortepiano represents the culmination of Viennese piano development up to the time of Schubert's death. The instrument already boasts a 6.5 octave compass and the tone is markedly fuller and more robust than the smaller 5-octave instruments of the Haydn / Mozart period. The period sound is especially suitable for performing the romantic repertoire of late-Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin and even Brahms. |
